Things To Do:

Vaujany has a wide range of activities, more details on some of these are listed below:

Take the Gondola up the mountain - Walking / Mountain Biking

Taking the gondola from the centre of the village to the middle station at 2100m opens up a huge area for walking and mountain biking. (Well worth it). Continue on to the top station at 2800m for a more remote experience.

Walking shoes and extra layers recommended as it can be quite cold at the top.

 Day tickets at €16.50

Watersports at Lake Verney

The centre is open every day from 11am to 7pm, offering a wide range of watersports, including canoeing, pedalo boats, optimist boats, kayaking, windsurfing or stand-up paddle.

The equipment is available to hire or you can choose to set off with a professional instructor, for a windsurfing or optimist boating session. Swimming is not permitted, but with the activities on offer on the water or on the shores of the lake, that’s not a problem.

Visit Bourg D’Oisans

Bourg is the nearest town to Vaujany. It’s about 10k continuing along through valley.

There is a large hyper market in the shadow of Alpe D’Huez  and a very pretty pedestrianised centre street with local shops and places for coffee etc. There’s also market on a Saturday morning which is worth a visit if you have time before the wedding.

Climbing

Vaujany is one of the Isère’s leading centres for vertical climbing in a magnificent setting. A few years ago, it equipped no fewer than 12 climbing routes along the La Fare waterfall. In other words, it’s a complete site that caters for all levels of climber, from 2 to 6a.
